Welcome, dear Reader! In my previous post, I promised to tell you more about the beginnings of our bakery, the differences in the company names that appear in my texts, and most importantly, about my father-in-law – the baker and the man who started this whole bakery adventure. Both mine and the one I am describing today. It’s truly an exciting and inspiring story, so set aside a few minutes for this text and a moment for reflection afterward. Let’s dive in!

Oława Bakery Worksop is the original bakery founded by Mirosław Zubicki over ten years ago, and that’s what we’ll focus on today. Oława Bakery London was my project, but we weren’t a bakery in the literal sense of the word – we acted as a middleman. We purchased products from Oława Bakery Worksop at wholesale prices, added our own margin, and sold them in new locations, thus expanding my father-in-law’s business. This venture was later sold, which I will talk about in the next post. You may have also come across the name Oława Bakery Online – that’s my new project, operating similarly to the previous one. The most important thing I want to emphasize is that there is only one bakery, and only one man with such great baking talent as Mirosław Zubicki. The rest of us, including myself, are just business partners trying to find our way in the world of commerce.
I believe my father-in-law is best described by his own words. Over the years, an article about him was published in “Goniec,” as well as a wonderful report by one of the local radio stations. I encourage you to read and watch these materials, as they will be added below. They will help you better understand his personality and the character of a man who is not just a baker but an inspiration.

From my perspective, I can say that from the very beginning of our collaboration, I could always count on him. Regardless of the time of day or night, he was always ready to help. Whether my van broke down at one in the morning, or I had organizational issues with markets, deliveries, or the store – he was always there for me, not just with advice but with a full action plan for difficult moments. Could I have expected greater support? Definitely not. You know, we weren’t even family yet, and still, he gave so much of himself. Was it just business? I don’t think so because compared to other partners, I was just one of many. Perhaps he saw potential in me, perhaps he gave me a vote of confidence, or maybe he simply liked me. I don’t know to this day, but I do know one thing – Mirosław Zubicki is a master of his craft and simply a good man.

I encourage you to explore the materials prepared below, and in the next post, I will tell you about the sale of Oława Bakery London, our move out of London, and starting everything from scratch. And all of this in the name of the family we’ve always dreamed of. Intrigued? Stay tuned for the next read!
